I'm Jackie Kinealy. I teach yoga to help you find clarity on what's really important in life, to cut through the distractions of our noisy culture, and stake out the time and space to figure out how to live a meaningful life - one based in deep values and in service to a more beautiful future.
I am a yoga teacher in St. Louis, Missouri, and the author of Field Guide to Teaching Yoga: Overcoming Fears, Rising the Challenges, and Thriving in a Job You Love.
I discovered yoga in 2007 as a college kid. I didn't have my life together; I didn't know what I wanted from life. Even if I had known, I didn't have the tools of discipline, intention, and integrity to make it happen.
For me, yoga delivered both the path and the tools. Yoga taught me how to be discipled, how to stay with discomfort, how to clarify what's important to me, how to be present in my life, how to take responsibility for my impact in the world, how to serve, and how to enJOY it! I began teaching in 2014, and I found my calling.
Today I am fortunate to make teaching yoga my full-time gig. I truly love my job. I work hard at providing my students with fertile ground to navigate their own unique journey through life. I believe that the yoga studio can be a patch of solid ground, a temple for spiritual discovery, and a catalyst for self-transformation.
In addition to teaching weekly classes, I am a faculty member for the 200-hour Vinyasa-Yin Teacher Training at Urban Breath Yoga. I am currently working on my advanced 500-hour certification at the world-class Kripalu Center in Lenox, Massachusetts. I am trying to get better about posting on Instagram @jakyoga.
